It’s important to measure personal freedom of nations to analyze its impact on society and economy.

We agree that several libertarian organizations, foundations and think tanks have done excellent works, papers and indexes studying freedom, but mostly with an excessive emphasis on the economic freedoms.

Wilhelm von Humboldt Foundation advocates to achieve a healthy and prosper society scholars and institutions need to see freedom as a whole, not only including just economic freedom but also the others such as basics, sexuals, liberty over the body, consumption, speech, among others.

That’s why we have created the Global Personal Freedom Index.
